It was with great interest that I noticed Carl was wearing his Solution Access kayaking pants at Fraser island again for a second year in a row, which I thought was good testimony to how well they have served him. The fact that they were still looking to be in pretty good shape also made for a good example of their durability, despite their very thin fabric. While looking around for something to replace my aged and weathered Stohlquist cag and Hobie drytops, I figured now was a good time to look closer at Solutions Access cag, which is much the same thing as the pants, only a cag instead. Which is to say it's an ultra-light waterproof and breathable shell, pretty much perfectly styled for kayaking. I think the standout feature for the Solution Access garments is the glideskin lined neoprene cuffs, which make for an easy and comfortable waterblocking seal.
Some people would mistake the lightweight of this fabric would be best suited for warmer climates, which I tend to agree with, though would serve well enough in colder climates if the user was suitably insulated underneath. The fabric is a 2-layer type with a rip-stop nylon outer and the jacket is a large open cut that isn't in any way restrictive, making it ideal for paddling and fishing. After having only used it a couple of times so far I can already safely recommend it, as I'm sure Carl could also do for the pants he wears.
