SWR - marlin or bust

Its that time of year again - when a whole bunch of highly enthusiastic yak fishoes descend upon South West Rocks for a heavy open water fishing session. Of course, I'm including myself in that group, partly with intention to capture enough footage for a SWR focused Yakass CKFS episode, but mainly with ambitious intentions to catch (and then release) a marlin. Chances are I'll be making the journey twice - this weekend and the next. I'd like to stay for the entire week, but my day job interferes with that desire.
The weather has set the stage for an awesome week of kayak fishing and those who are staying the full week are destined for a great time. Certainly a whole lot better than last year, which by contrast, was fairly miserable. Thats not to say it didn't have it's moments though. For me personally, my largest (non humpback whale) hookup ever occurred, on what was most likely a rather large yellowfin tuna. For Louis, it was a hard-fought battle with a marlin. Others had their moments to. But somehow I think this year will produce much more exciting results. I'll be sure to report back as it all unfolds.
In the meantime, here's a video I put together on last years trip, War on Fish, episode 6.
