I keep getting asked about when my next video clip is due for release, to which I can only safely answer 'real-soon-now(tm)'. As some members are well aware, a great deal of the past 8 - 10 weeks has been gone into researching, building, testing and then rebuilding this site and ever since launching it, bug-fixing and tweaking to get it the way we want it. That process is on-going but thankfully the worst of it is well behind us, freeing me up to fire up the video editor to finish what I started a couple months back. Yakass Coastal Kayak Fishing Show Episode 6 is 60% complete and all of the footage has been shot to cap it off. Due to the delay in between editing sessions I have an awful lot of footage to sort through and having to make a few tough decisions on what to chop.
Some of the material I'd planned to include in this episode it going to be tricky to fit, so I'm now thinking of re-shooting it at Fraser Isl and including it in the following episode, which I think might make for a better backdrop for it anyway. This leaves me with a whole lot of snapper catching footage to splice together, which on top of what is already there, should make for an excellent finale. I expect to have episode 6 fully wrapped up and live by the end of next week.
I've been saving up a lot of ideas for the 2011 Fraser Isl episode, which I expect to come in at least 45 minutes long, if not more. Not just certain segments I'd like to shoot, but also filming techniques I'm going to experiment with, most of which are going to work best in clear blue water, which is precisely what it's going to look like in the sandy straight seperating Fraser island from the mainland. If I can pull off what I have in mind - and especially if the fish cooperate - episode 7 is going to be my best work to date. I've taken an extra week off work after our trip so I can concentrate on getting that out fast, so look for that towards the end of November.
