The field of competitors are now busily pre-fishing in readiness for the Daiwa - Hobie World kayak fishing championships, with the international visitors cramming in as much bream-centric information as possible. The weather isn't really playing nice right now, but by all reports everyone is having a hell of a time.
Forecasters were right, there was a strong southerly along with a steady drizzle out on the river this morning. Anglers were able to find secluded spots along the river away from the wind to practice their skills. Event anglers had a Q and A session on the Lowrance Elite 5x Sounder with Nick Hamilton Smith from Lowrance. Then ABT's Steve Morgan and Chris Hickson gave an information session on Bream fishing. Dinner at the event Hotel had an amazing Aussie feast of kangaroo, crocodile, oysters, steak and other delectable tastes from Australia. The dinner was accompanied by the 40 000 year old haunting, sounds of the Australian aboriginal didgeridoo.... wish you were here? Oh Yeah.
