Bridge to Cape Yak/SUP challenge

Author: josh

There is a very cool kayak and stand-up paddle-board (SUP) tournament being scheduled to take place in Auckland New Zealand June 2012 and it's looking likely that some Aussie yak fishos will cross the pond to participate. Featuring target species that make the humble bream look even more humble (snapper, kingfish, trevally, dory, kahawai AKA aussie salmon) it should come as no surprise that some of us have already started making plans to take part in the Bridge to Cape Kayak and SUP Winter Fishing Challenge. There's $2000 on offer for whoever can land the largest snapper and $1000s worth of other prizes up for grabs to. Sponsored by Ocean Kayak and being put together by Orton Events, this kayak fishing tourney is a boon for the sport in NZ. We'll be watching very closely.
