The 2012 Beach & Boat fishing competition is playing host to the Kayak Fishing World Cup (KFWC) in New Zealand next year. Proudly sponsored by Ocean Kayak, the invitation is open to competitors from around the world. KFWC is featuring another multi-species format that is sure to appeal. The prizes for this tournament sound pretty amazing so I'm sure there will indeed be an international turn out. If you don't live in NZ and like the idea of competing, be sure to note the last paragraph on the event info page, which says this:

Some overseas kayak fishing contestants have already been “placed” for the event and will be provided with suitable fishing kayaks for the duration of their stay. There is also a limited number of fishing kayaks available to those that are competing in the event from overseas, and are not able to source one locally upon arrival. PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MUST PURCHASE BOTH YOUR TICKET (EARLY) AND REQUEST A KAYAK AS THIS IS ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS.
