Big news for the Aussie Hobie AI/TI community has broken today as Hobie's Steve Fields sends word of not one but two big day out style events dedicated to the rapidly growing trimaran kayak user-group. At this stage the events are still in the planning stages, though in a venue as grand as Jervis bay on boats as capable as the Islands, there's going to be no shortage of activitives for us to sink our teeth into... on water by day, at bar by night!

I'll be attending both events and am really looking forward to getting back to my old stomping grounds in the area, and especially looking forward to getting together with a bunch of other enthusiasts. It's going to be interesting to inspect various rigs, fitouts and compare notes and is most certain to be a fabulous platform for beginners to learn a whole lot more about their boats in a short space of time. This is going to be an event Islanders will not want to miss!

• Hobie BDO April 14-15, 2012 

The plan is to perhaps to meet for dinner at the "Huskisson" on the Friday Night (or Sat), then out sailing on JB (from the Vincentia Sailing Club) or the Basin subject to wind. Looking at having Hobie SUP's and Cats on the water......More details to follow. Who's in?
