Sling-Light Chair

Author: Holger

The last couple of years I considered my camping setup to be complete with one exception:  a lightweight chair. I just couldn’t find the right thing. All the chairs I looked at were either very heavy, had no back support, or bulky and made by rust prone steel. After a lot of research I might finally have found the right chair: The Sling-Light Chair. Here is what they say about the Sling Light Chair on their website:

The ultimate in carrying convenience, this unique chair folds up flat for ease of storage.    The natural load bearing qualities of the sling provide each individual with full back support. Although the Sling-Light is incredibly small and light, it is definitely not a toy. It gives full size comfort for the average individual, and will support 250 lbs. with ease.  In tests it has successfully supported 545 lbs. without failure.   Every aspect of the Sling-Light has been designed for maximum comfort and convenience while keeping weight to a minimum. At just 18 ounces/ 510g (+ 4 ounces/ 113g for the optional headrest), there is no chair of equal performance that is as light and compact.

It is well made, lightweight (in fact is swims), it fits into my waterproof bag and with its full back rest it ticks all my boxes. First tests are promising; I’ll let you know how it went when we are back from Fraser Island.
