Rule Aquacharge bilge pump

Author: josh

Today I was shown (and impressed by) a sample unit of Rule's newest electrical bilge pump, which is in fact a portable rechargable unit. Being fully submersible, the Aquacharge device might be a good alternative to other electrical bilge pump systems for kayaks, as there is no need for it to be installed. One would merely store inside the hull, and if required simply switch it on. At $AU150 it's not terribly cheap, but it does look like it would do the job nicely. More information can be found at the official Aquacharge website

The pump kit includes the portable pump with threaded discharge, a charging station, a battery and an 8' garden hose. The charging station can be connected to either a 110V household outlet or your boat's 12V electrical system. Additional batteries are sold separately. The powerful AquaCharge™ is capable of pumping 50 gallons in less than 10 minutes. No boat or home should be without one!
