Many thanks to Roger (AKA Captborg) who contacted me to let me know about this kayak camera mount product, which I might just look into a little further. The X-Shot kayak camera mount incorporates a RAM style base with an elegant looking telescoping shaft. This would allow for varying heights and more potential camera angles.
