After getting just over 300mm of rain on the weekend I was more then keen to get out for a fish today. The clouds weren't as thick and a couple patches of blue sky was all it took for me to throw my barramundi kit together and head off to Teemburra dam (far Nth QLD). Getting there I found I was the only one on the dam and quickly set up before the rain set in.

Trolling along one of my favourite banks I got a hit then a hook up within a short time had a decent sized barra on. Pulling it way from the snags I had it in open water and after a short fight had it yakside. A quick snap and away it went. Continuing my trolling/casting made for my usual spots all for nothing.
Then the 'tool' factor appeared in the form of ski boat, which are banned from the dam and 3 idiots tearing around. They made for open water and I stayed in the snags or close to the bank right away from them and soon they were gone from view. The rain started to get heavier and thunder started the roll through the hills so I decided to head home. Only to find that the 'tool' factor had left their 4WD and trailer on the ramp...I mean WTF!!! were these idiots thinking?

Having the yak meant it didn't bother me, but I did feel compelled to leave an appropriately worded note on their windscreen. On the way down the hill I past a regular heading up to the dam with his tinny, wasn't he in for a nice surprise. I did however discover an excellent way to stay dry when out there and this worked very well as a sail to.
