Rain, rain and more rain. It's been a pretty grim Summer here in the Northern Rivers region of NSW; over 1600mm of rain has fallen in the last 6 months, making for pretty average kayak fishing conditions. I have managed not much more than a handful of fish for this entire period, neither have any of my fellow backwater anglers.  The few GT's that I have managed to land put up some great sport however. I have spent the last few weeks working on making what I hope you will find to be an entertaining clip.  As I write this the Sun shines down upon a cold, turbid torrent of mud, debris and garbage. It's unlikely the river will recover any time in the next two weeks. Which is poor timing. The bigger Jewfish should otherwise start moving up higher into the system in seach of the Winter bait schools. Fingers crossed for a cessation of daily downpours (we've had not more than eight or ten days without rain of some sort all year.) and some good tides to bring back the saltwater.

So, you've just unwrapped your new Hobie kayak and because it fell off the back of a truck or otherwise purchased it second hand, you didn't have the benefit of having an experienced Hobie kayak dealer show you the ropes. Have no fear, Hobie USA have a pretty good introductory video that should get you off to a good start.
