Stealth Serpent intro video

Taso Aifantis of Tastech Industries, otherwise known as our very own Brown Hornet to our members, is the creator of the 'Stealth Serpent' drop-in Jarvis Walker Watersnake motor (among other things) for Hobie mirage kayaks. Within the following clips he demonstrates what the Stealth Serpent is exactly, how it's installed, powered and used. Essential viewing for those interested in an electric motor system for their Hobie. Also as part of the demonstration videos Tas also shows off the wide-base heavy duty wheelcart he constructs to deal with the added weight of the motor battery. A side note that may be of interest to readers is that Tas and I have collaborated on a design intended for the Adventure Island and it's quite likely that I'll be putting the first prototype to the test this weekend. More on that later.

Good job on the videos Tas. I bought mine off you about three months ago. it was good to see the advice you give on the installation of the electric motor. Have used mine off Depot Beach at Batemans Bay, NSW and also at Lake Jindabyne. The fishing does become more of a stealth type fishing, especially in Jndabyne with the SPOOKY TROUT. My strike rate has improved significally on the troll and also using soft plastics. Also using the Rudder to steer the kayak while using the motor keeps the fishing simple as HOBIE intended it to be.Well done buddy. let me know of any new invention you come up with.

Thanks bigfin. How do you find the battery ? How long have you been getting out of the 120 amp? Do you think the battery stabalizes the yak better?
Iv'e been thinking about a lean bar that plugs into the rear scuppers on an out back and front scuppers on a proangler. This bar will plug in and enable the fisherman to lean back on or foward while standing up to get a better view and a more accurate cast. Ive got bream and bass on lure in mind.
I'm going to start experimenting in the next 2 weeks and try and come up with something tough ,simple and effective . I saw some pics posted on this site of a yank contrapion which got me thinking .I think i could simplify it and make easliy removed and stored .
Any imput from yakass members would be seriously looked at.
