- josh replied to the topic Re: New AI in AK! in the forum.FA, some users are having trouble posting pics at the moment. Try shrinking the file size, or better yet, upload elsewhere on the web (like imageshack) and post the image URL into the thread instead.
There is a bug in the system, and I'm having a hell of a time tracking it down. I'll get there!

- josh replied to the topic Re: if you could change just one thing... in the forum.Hehe Shep... you remember a while ago you told me that you often think of thinks through the mind of your younger self, but then once tackling them as your older self, being reminded that you are in fact no longer your younger self?
Trust me... an island tri yak weighing 20 odd more kg would remind you of this often. As someone who has participated in numerous AI expeditions, believe me when i say that the reduced weight can often be a godsend. Dragging your yak through inches of water through an estuary on an outgoing tide, or dragging your yak up a long beach to safely clear tide line is not easy with a weeks worth of camping gear and water after a big day on the water. And I mean back-breaking at times. The reduced weight of the AI coupled with its capability is one of its greatest strengths. I'd be giving that AI of yours more time before concluding you'd prefer a longer hull.
If you're prepared to deal with 18' of tri, get a TI. It can be used solo very comfortably. But managing off water, well, depends how you go about it.

- have installed a railblaza camera boom on my stern for rear cam. I like it. Might put a shorter one on my front deck
- josh replied to the topic Re: So who's fishin this weekend? in the forum.Don't ask me about today. But since you have, here's why I didn't go fishing. before I whine, great effort by the way, and yes, I know that pain of losing lures. I think we all do :-/
Had to work for most of today because a TI I unpacked to prep and go out Sat had show-stopping issues, which meant I had to come in on Sat morn to start over on a new one. It had show-stopping issues to. So then I unpacked another one, and once I got over its issues with simple workarounds, the customer had their TI loaded. Highlight of the day: being called the John West of Hobie kayaks: it's the kayaks Josh rejects that makes Mac Outdoors the best!' Much needed comedy relief at the time. Maybe you had to be there :-/
So yes... thats where my Saturday went. A long day on the water tomorrow will help me get over it. Trip report coming
